“Had a customer bring me some old cast pieces covered in oil and God knows what else. Before, if they bubbled in the oven, somehow that became my problem. Now I go through the customer-parts intake, take pictures and get it signed before I touch anything. Saves a whole mess of arguing later.”

“Customer showed me a color on her phone and said that’s what she wanted. I used the finish sheet, wrote down the actual powder, gloss and clear, then had her sign it. When she picked it up there wasn’t any ‘that ain’t the color I chose.’ That one sheet is worth the ten bucks.”

“I was bad about quoting one number, then letting folks add two more parts and a rush job like it was nothing. The quote and terms sheets shut that down without me having to be a jerk about it. What’s included, what ain’t, deposit, rush and pickup, it’s all written down. Y’all want it Friday, that’s rush. Simple as that.”

Results depend on your shop and your market. The market rate card reports what shops have publicly stated they charge; you set your own prices independently.
